Introduction

The MGR-AH_3 Series Three Phase Industrial AC to AC Solid State Relay is not a stand-alone device, but consists of three MGR-AH Series Single Phase industrial AC to AC solid state relays, a heat sink, a 85℃ temperature controlled switch and an air-cooled fan; so, it is also known as Industrial Three-Phase AC-AC Combined Solid State Relay. When selecting this series of solid state relays, you need to consider whether there is enough installation space. MGR-AH_3 features similar to the MGR-AH series. According to the load voltage, it is divided into Normal type (480VAC) and High Voltage type (1200VAC). According to load current, it can be divided into Normal type (40A~125A), and Large Current type (150A~400A).

Application

● Various commercial and industrial equipment that requires an electronic switch, especially but not limited to heavy industrial, heating or cooling equipment, professional food equipment, medical machines, remote control system, automotive, lighting system, motion control system, numerical control machinery.

Precautions and FAQs

● If the load current is 10A, a heat sink must be equipped; if the load current is 40A or more, an air-cooled radiator or a water-cooled radiator must be installed.
● When the load is an inductive load, be sure to connect a varistor in parallel with the output terminal, whose voltage value is 1.6-1.9 times the load voltage.
● What are the differences between Panel mount SSR and PCB mount SSR?
The panel type solid state relay (or device type, screw mounting type) needs to be fixed on a metal base plate or a heat sink, and is cooled by a heat sink or an air-cooled radiator. The PCB solid state relay (or pin mounting type) has the industry standard pin configurations, and can be mounted directly to the Printed Circuit Board, and the natural cooling as heat dissipation without the need for a heat sink. The PCB type has a smaller mounting size and a larger power density than the panel type.
● What is the difference between a Standard Package SSR (TRIAC output) and an Industrial Package SSR  (anti-parallel SCR output) ?
For resistive AC loads, the difference between the two is small. Standard Package can use up to M5 screws, while Industrial Package can use up to M8 screws.
For inductive or capacitive AC loads, when the solid state relay is turned off in the on state, a large voltage-rise rate dv/dt (commutation dv/dt) will occur due to the inconsistent phase of the current and voltage. Such dv/dt affects the output efficiency of TRIAC, or even damages TRIAC, but the effect of commutation dv/dt on anti-parallel SCR is very small. Therefore, for AC loads with large inductance or capacitance, it is more suitable to choose industrial solid state relays.

Application

● Various commercial and industrial equipment that requires an electronic switch, especially but not limited to air conditioners, balers, household appliances, heating or cooling equipment, professional food equipment, medical machines, remote control system, automotive, lighting system, motion control system, numerical control machinery.

● What is the difference between a Standard Package SSR (TRIAC output) and an Industrial Package SSR (anti-parallel SCR output)?
● What is the difference between Zero Cross Switching and Random Fire Switching?
According to the trigger timing, the trigger mode of the solid state relay can be divided into Zero Cross Switching (or Zero-crossing Turn-on) and Random Fire Switching (or Random Turn-on). When the Zero Crossing Turn-on SSR receives the control signal, it will switch the load after the load voltage passes the zero-crossing point (which is not a voltage point but actually a voltage zone, about ±15V), which helps to reduce EMI, RFI and the impulse current; Random Turn on SSR will switches the load immediately (in few milliseconds) as soon as it receives the control signal, so it is more suitable for applications with higher delay requirements.

Introduction

MGR-1D_2 Series Dual Channel Panel Mount DC to AC Solid State Relay (or 2 channel solid state relay) is a SPST DC to AC solid state relay, which has two independent I/O channels (input-output), therefore, one MGR-1D_2 Series can act as two MGR-1 Series solid state relays, which means two different loads can be controlled independently through two control signals. According to the wiring method, MGR-1D_2 Series can be divided into MGR-1D_2H Series (Plug-in Wiring, 8-pin) and MGR-1D_2T Series (Lead Wiring, 4-pin). If you need two panel mount solid state relays but the space is not enough, MGR-1D_2 will help you.

Application

● Various commercial and industrial equipment that requires an electronic switch, especially but not limited to heavy industrial, heating or cooling equipment, professional food equipment, medical machines, remote control system, automotive, lighting system, motion control system, numerical control machinery.
● Two I/O Channels (two control signals, two power suppliers, and two different loads); each channel is independent.

Introduction

MGR-1X Series Compact Panel Mount DC to AC Solid State Relay (or Miniature Panel Mount Solid State Relay, Mini Panel Mount Solid State Relay) uses Compact Package, which can be mounted directly on a metal plate or heat sink, and currently is the smallest Panel Mount AC Solid State Relay in the MGR product line. Although the MGR-1X Series has the same characteristics as the MGR-1D Series, its volume is only one quarter (1/4) of the MGR-1D Series, therefore, the MGR-1X is more suitable for equipment where the installation space or power density is highly demanding.
